Proud "Up The Mountain" Pinot Noir 2023
2023 Proud 'Up the Mountain' Yarra Pinot Noir 23 year old vines from 3 different blocks on the farm in Gruyere. 30% whole bunch component with 70% whole berries. 2023 produced some of the best wines seen from the Yarra Valley in well over a decade. Beautiful ripening conditions gave rise to fruit with great depth and concentration. This wine was fermented in stainless tank with wild yeast, then aged in older French oak barriques and barrels for 6 months prior to bottling. Aromas of red florals, cherries and pomegranate, the palate shows dusty cherries, rhubarb and earthy undertones. Bright acid drive and chalky tannins make this a balanced and savoury wine.
