Domaine de Chatillon Gamay Rose Vin de Savoie 2023
Vines up to 40 years of age grown in Chautagne area of Savoie close to Lac de Bourget (formerly known as “Chatillon”) south east of Annecy in the French Alps. The label depicts the castle, Chateau de Chatillon (goes back to 1125 and has been refurbished into a residence) situated on the property.
Historically, the wines of Savoie have been consumed locally as the region only produces less than 1% of France’s wine production. The wines were rarely seen outside of the region, let alone outside of France.

All Estate grown Gamay grapes with a touch of pinot (10%), Vin de Savoie AOC. Mouthwatering salmon colour, aromatic Rosé … lovely juicy red fruits and stone fruit with pristine alpine acidity. Dry provencal style, more-ish, delicious with lively mountain acidity. A salute to Mont Blanc… Fabulous drinking on offer here. This new release is on song – delightfully crisp and fresh is this bargain! 12% Alc Under screwcap.
